2LT Lahonda Long boarding plane for Afghanistan
2LT Lashonda Long was born in Columbus, GA and graduated from George Washington Carver high school in 2008. She was a recipient of a four year Army ROTC Scholarship from Albany State University. 2LT Long graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management and commissioned as a 2LT in the United States Army Reserve from Albany State University in May 2012. After graduation, she attended the Adjutant General Corp Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Upon completion of BOLC, she spent weeks conducting pre-deployment training at Fort Bliss, Texas in order to prepare herself and her unit for a deployment to Afghanistan. She is currently serving as the Battalion Human Resource/Personnel Officer for the 384th Military Police Battalion with duty in Afghanistan.
