Welcome to the Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic, a multi-disciplinary academic excellence and student-oriented unit of Albany State University. The Department is the largest department in the College of Sciences and Health Professions and boosts of well-organized students' activities. The Department is committed to excellence in conjunction with career opportunities. With highly Committed and dedicated faculty, highly diverse in expertise and international background, the Department of Criminal emphasizes career preparation long with academic achievements. The Department's overall goal is to through our quality academic programs, to produce graduates who would become researchers, scientists, educators, legal practitioners and scholars and top law enforcement professionals. The Department is fully integrated into both graduate and undergraduate curricular, which prepare our students for professional positions in both Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. Our academic programs which are listed below are aligned according to affiliated professional bodies like the Academic of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) and our Forensic Science program is accredited by the Forensic Education Program Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). The Department is extremely very innovative and has responded to the increasing demand for online classes by developing and implementing a full online Masters of Science degree program in Criminal Justice and working toward a similar program for the undergraduate. The Department has also collaborated with and signed MOUs with over seven two year institutions in the area and beyond.
